Capable of great flexibility, subtlety, and power of expression, this player-friendly concert guitar possesses a warm, clear, creamy sound and a wide palette of color and attack. Each note feels like a polished jewel. Balance and playability are exceptional, offering one of the easiest actions and neck contours you’ll encounter in a modern doubletop.
Joshia de Jonge built this special instrument as her 100th guitar, marking a milestone in her career as one of Canada’s foremost luthiers. It holds a particularly special place in her heart. Built during the early days of the pandemic, she shared that “with nowhere to go I was able to really take my time and try out some new designs I had been dreaming of.” The result is an instrument that represents both her artistic maturity and a moment of deep creative focus and reflection.
Every part of this guitar was intentionally sourced from local Canadian or regionally meaningful woods, giving it a distinct identity and personal connection to its maker. The fingerboard is crafted from Ironwood harvested from her husband Pat’s family farm, a property that has been in the family for seven generations. The back and sides are European maple, and the Swiss “moon” spruce doubletop, laminated with Eastern white cedar, completes the instrument’s luminous aesthetic and responsive voice.
The result is a guitar that embodies both innovation and intimacy, a perfect blend of refinement, clarity, and warmth. Sustain is long and even, dynamic range is wide, and projection is outstanding. Visually, it is understated and elegant, with the soft glow of maple and meticulous detailing that reflect Joshia’s minimalist perfectionism.

Tone & Playability
Responsive, fluid, and tonally pure. The maple body keeps the sound open and luminous, while the doubletop adds the punch and sustain modern players expect. The trebles are silvery and articulate, the basses are deep yet fast to respond. The neck’s shape and action make it immediately comfortable, ideal for players who value both agility and lyrical control.
