The smaller scale length of this guitar is worth noting in the first sentence of the description, but that is not what this guitar is all about! It’s a guitar with a charming personality that is in no way lacking in volume, sustain, nor dynamic range.

Douglass Scott has been making waves in the classical guitar world, with his instruments being used by professionals worldwide, which has grown his waitlist to over 4 years at this point. Here’s a chance to snag one of his special guitars at a very low price. A great instrument, at that!

Who this guitar would be perfect for: someone who simply wants a bit easier guitar to play. Have smaller hands? Struggle with stretches? Want a fun guitar to practice harder passages on? This guitar meets those needs.

As someone who typically plays 640-650mm scale guitars, I even have no problem adjusting to this instrument, which is 615mm scale with a 51mm nut (standard is 52mm). In fact, I find it refreshing when attempting some of the more difficult passages in the guitar repertoire.

This guitar is all traditional as far as the interior goes: 7 fan bracing, Spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides. If you thought the guitar sounded tight, I’d call you crazy. It’s wildly open sounding, and creating overtones that will make you just sit and listen.

It does have a raised fingerboard - maybe the most modern element of the guitar, which makes it even more comfortable to play. A feature that is near a “must” for me for a modern guitar these days.

There are fret markers on the 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th, 15th and 17th fret. So, if you miss a fret, it’s on you ;)

The guitar has been gently used by 1 owner, and only has very small, hardly noticeable marks on the top from careful play over the past 10 years.
