We're thrilled to bring in this 2026 cedar doubletop from Charalampos Koumridis, arriving to us straight from Greece. It's built around Koumridis's own Carbon Frame design, a modern approach to doubletop construction that pairs carbon fiber reinforcement with a traditional cedar voice.
Koumridis's instruments have been turning heads on the competition circuit. Guitarist Filippos Manoloudis recently won the Concerts in America competition playing one of his guitars, among a number of other recent wins.

The cedar top is built on 5 fan bracing with carbon fiber reinforcement as part of Koumridis's Carbon Frame design (more on the concept here). The back and sides are a striking set of cocobolo, paired with a raised ebony fingerboard, side sound port, and integrated armrest. The neck is Spanish cedar with a carbon bar reinforcement, and the guitar is fitted with Alessi H5 tuning machines. The top has an oil finish, while the back and sides are finished in nitrocellulose lacquer.
Koumridis's Carbon Frame system is designed to bring the projection and structural stability of modern doubletop construction to a more classical sense of voice and warmth. Built on a 650 mm scale with a 52.5 mm nut and weighing in at 2280 grams, the guitar feels light and lively in the hands.
We'll share a fuller set of sound and playability notes once we've spent more hands on time with the instrument.
