Built in 2013 by Antonio Marin Montero, one of the most respected luthiers in Granada, this exceptional instrument was custom commissioned in the style of Miguel Rodríguez for Spanish concert artist Vicente Coves. Part of a trio of special guitars built for Coves and the Romero family (Pepe and Celin Romero), it blends the tonal power of a Rodríguez with Marin's unmistakable craftsmanship and finesse.
This is not a standard Marin. With a 660mm scale and bold tonal architecture, this guitar is a powerhouse, boasting a growling bass response, lush overtone content, and lightning-quick response. It has been professionally played and toured, resulting in light cosmetic wear to the soundboard but no structural issues or repairs. It remains in excellent playing condition, and the playability is phenomenal.
Neck: Spanish Cedar
Frets: Extra-tall concert-style frets
Label: Dedicatory label to Vicente Coves (No. 699)
This guitar is striking for its balance of power and sensitivity. It offers that signature Rodríguez-style immediacy and growl when pushed, but can also be coaxed into whisper-quiet passages with breathtaking clarity. The dynamic range is vast, and the trebles have a crystalline quality that matches the weight and authority of the basses.
The playability is excellent—the tall frets and fast setup make it easy to execute precise, expressive articulation, even at higher positions. Whether you’re playing fiery virtuosic music or something delicate and lyrical, this guitar responds with complete honesty.
A rare opportunity to own a guitar with true concert pedigree and a unique backstory, this 2013 Marin is as musically inspiring as it is collectible. With only two other sister instruments made for members of the Romero family, this is a significant piece of contemporary guitar history.

Very good. Moderate cosmetic wear to the top from regular concert use (nail marks, light surface wear), but no cracks or repairs. Back, sides, and neck are clean and structurally excellent.
