About Enrico Bottelli

Enrico Bottelli was born in Milano, Italy in 1961 and has been building classical guitars slowly, meticulously, and lovingly since 1988. His magnificent concert instruments are esteemed worldwide by professional musicians and collectors for their elegant, highly responsive tone, refined visual beauty, and precise craftsmanship.

His first experience in luthiery began in 1981 under the guidance of master luthier Carlo Raspagni. He later attended a steel-string guitarmaking course with Ervin Somogyi in Berkeley, California (1982), studied the innovative Kasha system under Richard Schneider in 1988, and then in 1994–95 studied the traditional Spanish approach to classical guitar making with José Luis Romanillos. These influences, combined with deep study of early 20th-century Spanish masters such as Antonio de Torres, Enrique Garcia, Manuel Ramirez, Hermann Hauser I, José Romanillos, and David Rubio, continue to inform his work today.

Bottelli’s guitars are known for their exceptional responsiveness, lightness, and musicality, offering a wide range of tonal colors with a balanced blend of deep bass, warm midrange, and clear, singing trebles. Through his meticulous selection of rare tonewoods and impeccable attention to detail, his instruments stand out for their unblemished craftsmanship and aesthetic grace. His work has been displayed at major exhibitions across Europe and the United States and is offered exclusively through select dealers worldwide.
