Stefan Nitschke, 2024

$10,000.00

Spruce / CSA Rosewood

OVERVIEW

Stefan Nitschke is one of Germany’s most respected contemporary luthiers, having trained under Gerhard Oldiges before establishing his own workshop. His guitars are firmly rooted in the Spanish tradition, drawing inspiration from makers such as Torres, Simplicio, and Santos Hernández while reflecting the refinement of a modern master builder.

This 2024 “La Morena” is built with a spruce top and CITES-certified Brazilian rosewood back and sides. The Brazilian rosewood is visually striking, showing a wide range of color from deep chocolate to vibrant orange with beautiful feather-like figuring on the back.

Tonally, the guitar is open, balanced, and highly resonant. With a main air resonance around D, the basses are deep and spacious, while the trebles are warm, clear, and sustaining. The result is a voice that strongly recalls the character of the finest early 20th century Spanish guitars, combined with the precision and responsiveness expected from a modern concert instrument.
