Gioachino & Jacopo Giussani, 2026
Spruce / Ebony
Overview
This 2026 Giussani represents a slightly different, more architectural voice from the Gioachino and Jacopo Giussani workshop. With a spruce lattice top, striking Macassar ebony, a raised fingerboard, and an integrated soundport, this instrument leans toward clarity, projection, and structural elegance while retaining the warmth and musicality the Giussanis are known for.
Built specifically for GuitarCollection.com, this guitar reflects the ongoing refinement of their modern concert designs. It is visually bold yet disciplined, and musically focused, offering a sound that is direct, articulate, and exceptionally well organized across the registers.
This is a concert instrument that rewards precision, offering immediacy under the fingers and a voice that carries effortlessly into a hall while providing an enhanced player’s perspective through the soundport.

The rosette features the Giussanis’ characteristic geometric elegance, using warm, natural wood tones that complement the overall aesthetic without drawing attention away from the materials themselves.
Macassar ebony on the back and sides provides a dramatic visual contrast, with bold striping and depth that feel both modern and timeless. The soundport enhances the player’s connection to the instrument, delivering a more immediate and immersive listening experience without compromising projection. The raised fingerboard improves upper position access and subtly enhances clarity and focus, while the overall setup is low, clean, and effortless.
Sound & Playability
The tonal profile here emphasizes clarity, focus, and projection. The spruce top delivers quick response and excellent note separation, with trebles that are clear and centered and basses that are firm, defined, and supportive. Inner voices remain distinct even in dense textures, making this an excellent choice for contrapuntal repertoire.
Dynamics are wide and stable. The guitar scales naturally from soft, intimate playing to full concert projection without compression. Articulation is immediate, and the instrument supports crisp attacks as well as smooth, controlled legato lines. The soundport contributes to a heightened sense of feedback and control for the player, particularly at softer dynamic levels.
Currently strung with D’Addario XTC45FF, featuring carbon G and B strings paired with a nylon high tension first string, a setup that complements the guitar’s clarity and projection while preserving tonal color.
