Son of the famed German double top luthier Antonius Müller, Felix has learned from exactly the right people, and it has been a joy to watch his instruments develop over the years. His guitars are now firmly established on the international concert stage, played by a growing list of top artists including Marko Topchii, Emilie Fend, and Adam Holzman, and his waitlist now stretches many years.

This example lives up to his father's legacy while carving out a sound and sense of style entirely its own. Sound & Playability

It only takes a few notes to identify a Müller guitar, and this one announces itself immediately. Play the first chord and you are struck by just how loud it is, as loud or louder than some of the full scale Antonius Müller guitars we have spent so much time with. There is a real richness to the bass with a satisfying bite to the sound, and the trebles are bright and chimy.

The most endearing characteristic, though, is the sustain. It is phenomenal, and not simply in how long you hear a note but in how long the note stays perfectly at volume, all over the fingerboard. That evenness is remarkable: notes speak with authority and clarity whether played in first position or high above the twelfth fret, so you never feel the need to adjust your touch or compensate for weak spots. It makes you feel supported and relaxed while making music.

The dynamic range is enormous. You can be extremely gentle or drive the guitar hard, and it rewards the latter, with notes that fly off the instrument on a quick attack that is never paired with a sharp decay. Instead the voice keeps gaining, blooming in volume as it rings. It is also a guitar of many colors: a change of just a millimeter in the right hand, in the direction of the stroke or its placement, completely changes the sound, so it rewards exploration across the whole fingerboard.

The shorter 640 mm scale and 51 mm nut width make this an unusually comfortable concert instrument, more accessible for players who prefer a shorter scale or who find longer reaches a challenge, yet without ever feeling small or compromised. The neck is not super thin but sits right in that comfortable middle ground, the fret work is immaculate, and the action is nice and low.

Construction & Design

This is a cedar double top built with the same balsa interior layer that Antonius Müller pioneered, and it is displayed beautifully under the top. The guitar wears a very elegant green rosette with matching green accents that carry through the purfling along the body, a very thin green line paired with a cedar colored line, and echoed again in the color pattern on the tie block. A raised fingerboard makes the upper positions easy to reach, and it runs to a 20th fret.

The back and sides are a very nice set of Indian rosewood. Notably, Felix French polishes his guitars, where Antonius Müller instruments are almost always lacquered on the back and sides. The head carries the classic Müller headstock design, partially inspired by Friedrich, fitted with superb German made Scheller tuning machines, widely regarded among the very best available, with black mother of pearl buttons.

Felix Müller is a German luthier building in the double top tradition established by his father, Antonius Müller. He carries forward the best characteristics of those famed instruments, the power, sustain, and clarity, while developing his own voice and aesthetic. His guitars are increasingly sought after by competition winners and career professionals alike.

Excellent condition. There are very few signs of play, just small bits of wear here and there. It is clear that the previous owner cared for this guitar meticulously. No structural issues noted, and the guitar is performing at a very high level.
