Key Features

This stunning 2025 concert guitar marks our first collaboration with Italian Australian luthier Domenic Roscioli, and what an introduction it is. Built as his No. 233, this lattice braced cedar top model combines deep, sustaining resonance with exceptional clarity and separation across the range.

Roscioli, a protégé of Jim Redgate, carries forward the Australian tradition while refining it through his own vision. The result is an instrument that bridges power and lyricism, offering a commanding voice that remains warm and expressive.

  • Top: Western Red Cedar, French polished

  • Back and Sides: Amara Ebony, nitrocellulose finish

  • Neck: Mahogany, carved to custom spec (thin, C-shaped, low action)

  • Fingerboard: Elevated ebony for easy upper fret access

  • Bracing: Lattice with strong Jim Redgate influence

  • Finish: French polish (top) and nitrocellulose (body)

  • Serial No.: 233

In detail

Sound and Feel

This instrument feels alive from the first note. The sustain is extraordinary, creating a lush and unhurried atmosphere that invites expressive phrasing. The basses are powerful and expansive, while the trebles are round, thick, and lyrical. It projects with impressive strength yet retains a natural warmth that makes it adaptable for both concert and recording use.

Roscioli’s voicing emphasizes control and versatility. Every register speaks clearly, dynamic response is wide, and nail noise is subtly tamed, giving a clean and polished tonal result. It is the kind of guitar that inspires confidence and rewards musical intention.

Playability

The 640 mm scale and thin C-shaped neck provide exceptional comfort. The low action setup and ample saddle height allow for fine adjustment, and the carved Redgum armrest enhances ease of play while maintaining a sleek aesthetic.

Aesthetic Highlights

  • Elegant rosette with subtle green hues

  • Coordinated tie block and headstock detailing

  • Striking Amara ebony back and sides with reddish figuring

  • Thoughtfully balanced modern design with refined Australian character

Final Thoughts

Domenic Roscioli’s first guitar for GuitarCollection.com demonstrates both technical mastery and artistic maturity. It is a confident, beautifully voiced instrument that blends Australian inspired innovation with European elegance. A powerful and inviting guitar that sets the tone for an exciting partnership ahead.
