Saers is not a single maker but a workshop, a brand based in Guangzhou, China, whose luthiers bring decades of combined experience to a focused idea: the modern lattice-braced concert classical guitar. Founded to blend traditional artistry with contemporary advances, the workshop has grown into an internationally distributed name, with dealers on several continents and instruments in the hands of players, teachers, and collectors around the world. Everything is handmade, from student instruments through full concert guitars, and the brand has earned particular attention for how much performance its instruments deliver.

The workshop's signature is the lattice-braced soundboard, often paired with a cedar or spruce double top, a raised fingerboard, and a French polish finish over tonewoods such as cocobolo and Indian rosewood. These are modern design choices aimed at power and responsiveness: a top that speaks with little effort, projects with authority, and stays clear across the registers. The range runs from the Standard series for students through the Artist series to the Masterworks instruments built for professionals, and the workshop pairs its building with responsibly sourced tonewoods and careful finishing throughout.

The first Saers to come through our shop, a 2025 M900 double top with cocobolo back and sides, genuinely surprised us. The sound is bold and energetic, with a deep, supportive bass that never turns muddy and trebles that carry beautifully, staying clear and focused while notes bloom and linger. The lattice-braced double top gives the guitar a quick response and a strong presence, filling a room with very little effort from the player. For advancing players seeking real projection and sustain, these instruments are difficult to beat. Two new M900 double tops built for us, one at 650mm scale and one at 640mm, both with Madagascar rosewood, are expected by the end of 2026, and our expert team is glad to reserve either ahead of arrival.
